Chronic back pain is a problem that affects millions of people each year. Some are able to get treatment whereas others are told they need to learn to live with it. Unfortunately, for back sufferers, many back injuries will not show up on x-rays even though there is definitely something wrong. Doctors are trained to diagnose and treat what they can see. On the other hand, many times X-rays and tests will show severe spine or back injury and the patient may not have as much pain as they should for the injury. If you are a patient, information, chronic back pain management and counseling are available to you. All you have to do is speak to your doctor.

Since chronic back pain is such a common ailment with so many people, you don't need to feel alone if you are a sufferer. When X-rays and tests fail to show anything "physical", many people tend to feel that they are looked on as being hypochondriacs and, therefore, try to deal with the pain on their own. This will eventually make the pain worse and can also bring on other injuries.
